Increase Productivity with a Good Pop Up Stopper

So it's 4:30 on Friday afternoon, and we're trying to get out of town to go to the beach. I've got one more project left to finish up and hand to the boss before I can get out the door. I'm thinking it will take me fifteen minutes to check the Internet for the last bit of information I need, but of course my computer picks now to barrage me with gallons of spam and about a hundred worthless ads that I have no intention of looking at! I can't get anything done when I'm distracted, and it's my very own computer that's distracting me. Our work computers are supposed to be protected, but I figured it was a good idea for me to find my own pop up stopper and download it myself if I wanted to reclaim my weekend.

Ad blockers are nothing new, but the latest applications of this software are apparently a lot more sophisticated and effective. There are a ton of different companies out there making some pretty impressive claims, but I found a website with free pop up stopper reviews that was incredibly helpful.

I learned that I could block as much or as little as I wanted with some of the better software. Customizing the pop up stopper settings means I can even get rid of animated spam and optional toolbars that just get in the way. Some of the features read like my very own high-tech Dirty Harry -- complete with ironclad promises that nothing will get through to my desktop or my mailbox. Some of the programs are free, but most of the pop up stopper features I need only come on those that you pay for. Still, the prices are a bargain considering the amount of protection they offer.

The pop up stopper that I looked at promises to eliminate viruses as well as block spyware and spam, so I can rest easy that all my work won't disappear without a trace. One website I found was a great clearinghouse for information on viruses, and offered some practical tips for keeping my personal website free of kinks as well as giving me an education on keeping my computer free of infection.

Of course, the benefits of a good pop up stopper aren't just for work. Surfing the web is a lot more fun when you're not wrestling down ads with every mouse click. And frankly, my time, whether it's at work or at home, is valuable, and I want to be able to find the information I need without being sidetracked. Hasn't science already proven that we work better when we focus on one thing at a time and don't try to multitask? That's what my pop up stopper software has helped me do -- stick to the subject and get things done without interruption so that I can have more time to sit on the beach with a great book.
